Da'Taeveyon Daniels is a student organizer, activist, advocate, and storyteller hailing from Fort Worth, Texas, who embodies the spirit of youth advocacy and civic engagement. With a strong belief in the power of young voices to effect positive change, Daniels emerged as a prominent figure in various non-profit organizations, and movements. Spearheading initiatives against pressing issues while empowering communities across the country.
Daniels' currently serves as the Executive Director of Students Organized for a Real Shot (SORS)—a youth-led movement mobilizing students across the country to build power in policymaking spaces and fight for educational equity, representation, and liberation. Under his leadership, SORS is creating space for students to lead legislative efforts, challenge systemic injustices, and demand a real shot at shaping their futures.
Before launching SORS, Daniels held multiple leadership roles at Students Engaged in Advancing Texas (SEAT), serving first as Director of Partnerships & Development and later as Deputy Executive Director. In these roles, he fostered strategic collaboration among youth advocates, policymakers, and community stakeholders while leading fundraising and organizational growth. Through SEAT, Daniels helped young people across Texas engage in hands-on advocacy and drive tangible policy reforms.
He also briefly served as Chief Operating Officer at Diversify Our Narrative, a national youth-led organization working to advance anti-racist education and inclusive curriculum reform, furthering his commitment to equity in education systems across the country.
Daniels' journey in advocacy began during his freshman year at one of the most diverse high schools in Texas, where he confronted the lack of representation in educational materials. Joining the inaugural cohort of the NCAC Student Advocates for Speech, he founded and led multiple chapters that grew to include hundreds of students across Texas. His leadership earned him a historic appointment as the first student ever to serve on the National Advisory Council of the National Coalition Against Censorship in its 50+ year history.
Beyond intellectual freedom, Daniels has held a wide range of national and regional roles focused on uplifting youth narratives, building civic power, and advocating for mental health. As Southwest Regional Director of the Youth Legislative Action Center, he spearheaded a campaign that registered over 4,000 high school seniors to vote across 10 states in under a year. He later expanded his advocacy globally as Regional Director for North and South America at Minds Without Borders, advancing youth-led conversations around mental health and emotional well-being.
Da’Taeveyon’s work has been featured across national media and academic spaces—from testifying against censorship and school vouchers to co-authoring opinion pieces and joining high-profile panels with authors, legal experts, and fellow organizers. Whether organizing rallies, writing legislation, or building coalitions, his mission remains clear: to ensure every young person has the opportunity, support, and power to lead.
