Young people are too often excluded from policymaking spaces despite being the most affected by decisions on education, governance, and the future of society.
SORS was created to bridge this gap, ensuring students have a real shot at shaping policies impacting their lives. We exist to challenge systemic inequities, dismantle barriers to youth representation, and empower the next generation of changemakers.
“We are the change we have been waiting for.”
- Barak Obama
“There’s no power like the power of youth because the power of youth don't stop.”
- Protest Chant
"If there’s more like you, Da’Taeveyon, running around, I’m good. You're a superstar; I can’t wait to see your impact,”
- LeVar Burton
SORS was organized in December 2024 and formally launched in March 2025. Our founding was driven by seasoned youth organizers committed to:
Protecting public education from politicized attacks, billionaire interest, and funding cuts.
Breaking free from the nonprofit industrial complex to ensure genuine, grassroots-driven advocacy.
Restoring candor and humanity to youth-led movements, prioritizing authentic leadership development over performative activism.
Mobilizing youth on issues that matter most to them through direct engagement and grassroots organizing.
Creating a space for transformative organizing and personal growth where young leaders can develop the skills needed to drive long-term change.
